    • Skinning aluminum doors and working on non-structure quarter panel’s require technicians to use hand steel tools when used on aluminum that isolate the striking components to protect from galvanic corrosion but also require the removal and installation of SPR’s (Self-Piercing Rivets) as well as replacing the aluminum skin with a rope hem as part of the repair process.
  • Our Aluminum Door Skinning and SPR Bundle Kit (PN:STE21899), which are FORD Approved,  provide 11 tools required to replace and install an aluminum door skin.
  • With many vehicles using aluminum now, including the new Ford 150 body, using your everyday steel tools can cause galvanic corrosion on aluminum components.
    •   The Soft Strike Covers ( STE35000), including Hard Cap Body Hammer Cover (STE35025), General Purpose Dolly (STE35013) and .625 Light Toe Dolly (STE350175) eliminate the need to invest in redundant, special aluminum application tools.
  • The Al Skin Zipper (STE21892) skins doors in approximately 15 minutes using Al Skin Zipper’s self-lubricating reinforced Nylon head that will crimp regular or adhesive bonded skins along with the Al Skin Zipper2 (STE21896) can now skin the window opening which could not be done in the past with its self-lubricating reinforced Nylon head that will crimp regular or adhesive bonded skins.
  • Skinning aluminum doors and working on non-structure quarter panel’s technicians will be required to remove and install SPR’s (Self-Piercing Rivets) as part of the repair process using two new tools SPR Insertion Tool (STE21960) and SPR Extraction Tool (STE21970) that allow the technician to control these repair processes without waiting in line for the very expensive hydraulic tools.
